Give guards the Workforce app
Turn on the field app for one guard or a whole site at once, and hand over the first PIN. Each guard then chooses their own.
Who can do this: Administrators and operations
How signing in works
Guards sign in to the Trela Guard App with their mobile number and a 4-digit PIN. The PIN you hand over works once: the app asks the guard to choose their own the first time they sign in, so nobody in the office knows it afterwards.
One guard
- Open Workforce and choose View on the guard’s row.
- In Workforce app, choose Enable app access. If you cannot, add the guard’s mobile number to their profile first. It is their login.
- The first PIN is shown once. Choose Print sign-in sheet or Copy details and give it to the guard.
The PIN is not stored. If it is lost before the guard signs in, reset it and hand over the new one.
A whole site or branch
- Open Workforce and choose App access, or use Enable app access for the site’s staff on the site’s own page.
- Choose the site or branch, and confirm.
- Everyone posted there without a login gets one. Anyone who already has access, had it turned off, or has no mobile number is left as they were, and the list says why.
- Before you close, choose Download sign-in sheets or Open sheets to print. The PINs cannot be shown again.
Up to 200 staff are done at a time. After importing staff from a spreadsheet, the import offers the same step for the people it added.
Installing the app
Each sign-in sheet walks the guard through installing the Trela Guard App, signing in and choosing their own PIN. Where no install link has been published yet, the sheet asks the guard’s supervisor or office to install it for them.
The guard’s Workforce app section in Command says whether they are still waiting to choose their own PIN or have chosen it.
